Ang Kamatayan

T. Ano ba ang kamatayan?

S. Ang kamatayan ay ang pagtigil ng daloy ng buhay bilang kabayaran ng kasalanan.

“Sapagka’t ang kabayaran ng kasalanan ay kamatayan…” (Rom. 6:23 [show]Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. (ESV)

T. May ilang uri ng kamatayan ang ipinahahayag ng Kasulatan?

S. May tatlong uri ng kamatayan na ipinahahayag ng Kasulatan.

1. Kamatayang bunga ng kasalanan ng taong ama ng sangkatauhan. Ito ang unang kamatayan.

“At kung paanong itinakda sa mga tao ang mamatay na minsan, at pagkatapos nito ay ang paghuhukom.” (Heb. 9:27 [show]Hebrews 9:27 And just as it is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment, (ESV)

1. Ikalawang kamatayan: ang kamatayang bunga ng personal na kasalanan ng bawat tao.

“Nguni’t sa mga duwag, at sa mga hindi mananampalataya, at sa mga kasuklamsuklam, at sa mga mamamatay-tao, at sa mga mapakiapid, at sa mga manggagaway, at sa mga mapagsamba sa diosdiosan, at sa lahat na mga sinungaling, ang kanilang bahagi ay sa dagatdagatang nagniningas sa apoy at asupre; na siyang ikalawang kamatayan.” (Rev. 21:8 [show]Revelation 21:8 But as for the cowardly, the faithless, the detestable, as for murderers, the sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, their portion will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death." 1. Kamatayang bagama’t buhay ay patay.

“Datapuwa’t ang nangagpapakabuyo sa mga kalayawan, bagama’t buhay ay patay.” (1 Tim. 5:6 [show]1 Timothy 5:6 but she who is self-indulgent is dead even while she lives. (ESV)

Liwanag: – Ang unang kamatayan ay ang bunga ng kasalanan ng taong ama ng sangkatauhan, nang siya ay nasa Eden pa; nang suwayin niya ang kauna-unahang utos na ibinigay ng Dios sa lahing tao. “…Sa lahat ng punong kahoy sa halamanan ay makakakain ka na may kalayaan: Datapuwa’t sa kahoy ng pagkakilala ng mabuti at masama ay huwag kang kakain; sapagka’t sa araw na ikaw ay kumain niyaon ay walang pagsalang

Ang bisa nito ay tumagos sa boong lahing tao. Ito ang kamatayang sinasabi sa Heb. 9:27 [show]Hebrews 9:27 And just as it is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment, (ESV)
. Isang kamatayan na walang pinipili, maging bata o matanda, mahirap o mayaman, mangmang o marunong, karaniwang tao o hari man, sapagka’t ito’y kamatayang bunga ng kasalanan ng lahing tao sa pamamagitan ni Adan.

Maitatanong natin, “Bakit ba sa kasalanan lamang ng isang tao ay nagbayad ng kamatayan ang lahat ng kanyang lahi? Makatarungan ba ito? Nakakatiyak tayo na makatarungan sapagka’t nanggaling sa Dios na lumalang ang kapasiyahan. Ikalawa nasa balakang pa ni Adan ang boong sangkatauhan nang nagawa ang kasalanan. Na dahil dito’y ang buong lahing tao ang tinakdaang magbayad ng kamatayan. May ganitong karanasan din ang bayan ng Dios – ang Israel – nang magbayad ng buwis si Abraham kay Melquisedec, ganito ang ulat,

“At sa makatuwid baga’y sa pamamagitan ni Abraham pati si Levi, na tumatanggap ng ikasangpung bahagi, ay nagbayad ng ikasangpung bahagi; Sapagka’t siya’y nasa mga balakang pa ng kaniyang ama, nang ito’y salubungin ni Melquisedec.” (Heb. 7:9-10 [show]Hebrews 7:9-10 One might even say that Levi himself, who receives tithes, paid tithes through Abraham, for he was still in the loins of his ancestor when Melchizedek met him. Ang ikalawang kamatayan naman ay kabayaran ng personal na kasalanan sa Dios. Ang personal na relasyong ito ng tao sa Dios ay ipinahahayag din ng Kasulatan na ang sabi:

“Ito ang wakas ng bagay; lahat ay narinig: ikaw ay matakot sa Dios, at sundin mo ang kaniyang mga utos; sapagka’t ito ang buong katungkulan ng tao. Sapagka’t dadalhin ng Dios ang bawa’t gawa sa kahatulan, pati ng bawa’t kubling bagay, maging ito’y mabuti o maging ito’y masama.” (Ecc. 12:13-14 [show]Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 The end of the matter; all has been heard. Ang ikalawang kamatayan ay hindi ang pag-aalis ng hininga (espiritu) mula sa katawan at kaluluwa, na sa kalagayang ito ng tao ay tinawag na patay, na dahil dito’y inililibing sa sementeriyo.

T. Kung umalis ang hinga o espiritu (sa ibang talata ay tinatawag na diwa) ng tao mula sa kanyang katawan at kaluluwa, saan natutungo ito?

S. Bumabalik sa Dios na nagbigay nito.

“At ang alabok ay mauuwi sa lupa gaya ng una, at ang diwa ay mababalik sa Dios na nagbigay sa kaniya.” (Ecc. 12:7 [show]Ecclesiastes 12:7 and the dust returns to the earth as it was, and the spirit returns to God who gave it. (ESV)

T. Saan naman natutungo ang katawan?

S. Nauuwi sa alabok, sa lupa.

“Ang hininga niya ay pumapanaw, siya’y nanunumbalik sa kaniyang pagkalupa; sa araw ding yaon ay mawawala ang kaniyang pagiisip.” (Psa. 146:4 [show]Psalm 146:4 When his breath departs, he returns to the earth; on that very day his plans perish.

T. Saan naman natutungo ang kaluluwa ng tao pagkanamatay siya?

S. Nakasubsob sa alabok.

“Sapagka’t ang aming kaluluwa ay nakasubsob sa alabok: ang aming katawan ay nadidikit sa lupa.” (Psa. 44:25 [show]Psalm 44:25 For our soul is bowed down to the dust; our belly clings to the ground.

T. Maiiwasan ba ng tao ang unang kamatayan?

S. Hindi maiiwasan ang unang kamatayan.

“At kung paanong itinakda sa mga tao ang mamatay na minsan, at pagkatapos nito ay ang paghuhukom.” (Heb. 9:27 [show]Hebrews 9:27 And just as it is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment, (ESV)

Ang mamatay na minsan ay siyang unang kamatayan na nararanasan ng lahat ng mga tao, na sinasabi sa Rom. 5:12 [show]Romans 5:12 Therefore, just as sin came into the world through one man, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men because all sinned-- (ESV)
. Dahil dito’y kahit ang batang wala pang kamalayan sa kasalanan ay namamatay.

T. Ang ikalawang kamatayan ba naman ay maiiwasan ng tao?

S. Maiiwasan ang ikalawang kamatayan.

“Katotohanan, katotohanang sinasabi ko sa inyo, Ang dumirinig ng aking salita, at sumasampalataya sa kaniya na nagsugo sa akin, ay may buhay na walang hanggan, at hindi mapapasok sa paghatol, kundi lumipat na sa kabuhayan mula sa kamatayan. “ (Jn. 5:24 [show]John 5:24 Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life. (ESV)

Pansinin na, maiiwasan ng tao ang ikalawang kamatayan, kung dumirinig ng salita ng Panginoong Jesus at sumasampalataya sa Dios na nagsugo sa kanya.

T. Ano ba ang salita ng Panginoong Jesus at may kapangyarihang maglipat sa buhay mula sa kamatayan?

S. Pawang espiritu at pawang buhay.

“Ang espiritu nga ang bumubuhay; sa laman ay walang anomang pinakikinabang: ang mga salitang sinalita ko sa inyo ay pawang espiritu, at pawang buhay.” (Jn. 6:63 [show]John 6:63 It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh is no help at all. The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and life. (ESV)

T. Bakit naman kinakailangang sumampalataya sa Dios na nagsugo sa Panginoong Jesus?

S. Sapagka’t sinasabi ng Kasulatan,

“At kung walang pananampalataya ay hindi maaaring maging kalugodlugod sa kaniya; sapagka’t ang lumalapit sa Dios ay dapat sumampalatayang may Dios, at siya ang tagapagbigay ganti sa mga sa kaniya’y nagsisihanap.” (Heb. 11:6 [show]Hebrews 11:6 And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him. T. Hindi ba sinabi rin ng Panginoong Jesus na nararapat ding sumampalataya sa kanya, kung paanong nararapat sumampalataya sa Amang nagsugo sa kanya?

S. Sinabi nga niya na,

“Huwag magulumihanan ang inyong puso: magsisampalataya kayo sa Dios, magsisampalataya naman kayo sa akin.” (Jn. 14:1 [show]John 14:1 "Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God;(1) believe also in me. (ESV) Footnotes 1. [14:1] Or 'You believe in God'

Samakatuwid, kung paanong dapat sumampalataya sa nagsugo ay nararapat ding sumampalataya sa kanyang sinugo na kanyang bugtong na Anak na si Jesucristo. Kung gayon dalawa silang dapat sampalatayanan para magkamit ng buhay.

T. Ano ang magagawa sa pagsampalataya sa Panginoong Jesus, mayroon ba siyang kaugnayan sa sumasampalataya sa Dios, upang malipat sa kabuhayan mula sa kamatayan?

S. May kaugnayan, sapagka’t ang sabi niya,

“Sinabi sa kaniya ni Jesus, Ako ang pagkabuhay na maguli, at ang kabuhayan: ang sumasampalataya sa akin, bagama’t siya’y mamatay, gayon ma’y mabubuhay siya; At ang sinomang nabubuhay at sumasampalataya sa akin ay hindi mamamatay magpakailan man. Sinasampalatayanan mo baga ito?” (Jn. 11:25-26 [show]John 11:25-26 Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life.(1) Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. The men of Nineveh will rise up at the judgment with this generation and condemn it, for they repented at the preaching of Jonah, and behold, something greater than Jonah is here. "No one after lighting a lamp puts it in a cellar or under a basket, but on a stand, so that those who enter may see the light. Your eye is the lamp of your body. When your eye is healthy, your whole body is full of light, but when it is bad, your body is full of darkness. Therefore be careful lest the light in you be darkness. If then your whole body is full of light, having no part dark, it will be wholly bright, as when a lamp with its rays gives you light." While Jesus(5) was speaking, a Pharisee asked him to dine with him, so he went in and reclined at table. The Pharisee was astonished to see that he did not first wash before dinner. And the Lord said to him, "Now you Pharisees cleanse the outside of the cup and of the dish, but inside you are full of greed and wickedness. You fools! Did not he who made the outside make the inside also? But give as alms those things that are within, and behold, everything is clean for you. "But woe to you Pharisees! For you tithe mint and rue and every herb, and neglect justice and the love of God. These you ought to have done, without neglecting the others. Woe to you Pharisees!
